Dear mummies and daddies,
Chatsworth Bedok celebrated our highly anticipated Sports Day on 16 November 2015. Children and parents came in their loudest cheers and the haze did not dampen our spirits at all.
Chatsworth Bedok celebrated our highly anticipated Sports Day on 16 November 2015. Children and parents came in their loudest cheers and the haze did not dampen our spirits at all.
We started the day by warming our bodies and doing the Great Singapore Workout together.
The different classes then took turns to present their Sports Day cheer. Here is the K2 cheer!
Hands on my hips,
And smiles on my face,
Spirits in my heart,
We're ready to start!
S-U-P-E-R Super, that's what we are
S-U-P-E-R Super, that's what we are
Super Ohh, Super Ahh
Super K2s!
Before we proceeded to the different station games and relays, we chanted our K2 Super cheer to boost our energy and competitive team spirit.
First up, was the High-5 Relay. Each team took turns to hop over some hoops, walk on a bridge of chairs, jump for height and give a Hi-5 to a succession of handprints pasted against the wall before
proceeding to crawl into a tunnel and reach the finishing line.
Next, teams had to collect 10 coloured cupcake tags placed around the playground as they went through the challenging obstacle course. Each child had to climb the metal chain ladder, walk down the stairs, coordinate their steps using the walkers, jump in the hopping sack, climb up and over the climbing frames and balance as they walk on a plank.
At the third Spider Web station, both teams compete in the race concurrently by navigating their way through the intricate web and retrieving some items along the way.
Lastly, the children had to put their game face on and focus to complete the race as they balanced a beanbag on their head while holding a ping pong ball on a spoon with one hand. It was tricky as they had to walk over some hurdles and turn a corner all at the same time while completing the race. However, the children were terrific and did a superb job! Well done Super K2s!
We also invited parents to join the children and participate in a dodgeball group game at the end where they had to dodge some balls rolled towards them in the playing area.
Here are the K2 reflections after the event...
