We capped off the week with a cheerful and exciting Halloween party. All the children came dressed in their favourite costumes and we had a rollin' good time! Enjoy the pictures...
What's Halloween without trick or treats! The K2s took turns offering sweets and chocolates to other children, while getting a bagful of their own candies. Even spiderman swung by to get some for his own!
The K2s really had fun going around and at the end of it all, they had a bag full of candies and chocolates. Look at the smiles on their faces as they showed off their pumpkin bags of "treasures"!
Even Aunty Hattie and Ms Christine joined in the actions to give out sweets as well.
When all is completed, we see a happy and satisfied group of K2s. Happy Halloween from the K2s once again!
Chatsworth Bedok celebrated our highly anticipated Sports Day on 16 November 2015. Children and parents came in their loudest cheers and the haze did not dampen our spirits at all.
We started the day by warming our bodies and doing the Great Singapore Workout together.
The different classes then took turns to present their Sports Day cheer. Here is the K2 cheer!
Hands on my hips,
And smiles on my face,
Spirits in my heart,
We're ready to start!
S-U-P-E-R Super, that's what we are
S-U-P-E-R Super, that's what we are
Super Ohh, Super Ahh
Super K2s!
Before we proceeded to the different station games and relays, we chanted our K2 Super cheer to boost our energy and competitive team spirit.
First up, was the High-5 Relay. Each team took turns to hop over some hoops, walk on a bridge of chairs, jump for height and give a Hi-5 to a succession of handprints pasted against the wall before
proceeding to crawl into a tunnel and reach the finishing line.
Next, teams had to collect 10 coloured cupcake tags placed around the playground as they went through the challenging obstacle course. Each child had to climb the metal chain ladder, walk down the stairs, coordinate their steps using the walkers, jump in the hopping sack, climb up and over the climbing frames and balance as they walk on a plank.
At the third Spider Web station, both teams compete in the race concurrently by navigating their way through the intricate web and retrieving some items along the way.
Lastly, the children had to put their game face on and focus to complete the race as they balanced a beanbag on their head while holding a ping pong ball on a spoon with one hand. It was tricky as they had to walk over some hurdles and turn a corner all at the same time while completing the race. However, the children were terrific and did a superb job! Well done Super K2s!
We also invited parents to join the children and participate in a dodgeball group game at the end where they had to dodge some balls rolled towards them in the playing area.
Here are the K2 reflections after the event...

For Numeracy, we have been practicing the concept of "Number Bonds" for the past few weeks. Here are a couple of activities we did to enhance our understanding of number bonds.
First, we did flower pot number bonds during one of our lessons. The children were each given a paper flower pot with a number up to 10 printed on it. They were then invited to break down the number into two smaller numbers. Children chose two coloured cupcake liners to represent the flowers and wrote the two smaller numbers in them using markers. They then pasted their paper flower pots and cupcake liners a drawing paper to make their flower pot number bonds. After that, they stamped corresponding number of butterflies on their papers using the butterfly stamps to further demonstrate their understanding of number bonds.
Next, we also played a number bonds bowling game to find different ways to make 15. The children arranged 15 plastic cups to represent the bowling pins and used a tennis ball to hit the plastic cups. They learned to decompose 15 into 2 smaller numbers by counting the number of cups that fell and the number of cups that remained standing in the two smaller circles on their number bonds recording sheet. The children did a fantastic job in finding as many combinations of 15 as they possibly can!
