Welcome back to Term 3

Dear parents,

Time flies and we have come to the last semester and the last stretch of Kindy for the K2 children. The past terms must have been fulfilling for the children and you would have seen how much your children have developed. Our goal this semester is to essentially continue preparing the K2 children for Primary One in all aspects of their physical, cognitive, social and emotional development. We hope you will continue to support the school by reinforcing your children's learning at home through reading about what your children are learning in school in our weekly blog updates.

As a start, we kicked off this term by learning more about adjectives. The children learned that adjectives are words that describe nouns such as things, people, places and animals and they were introduced to a song about adjectives.

We also watched another video on adjectives ...

The K2 children brainstormed words that describe colour, size, shape, texture and characteristecs. They were then invited to use adjectives to describe themselves. Let's take a look at what they have to say about themselves ...

We also discovered a yummy way of learning about addition using Honey stars. The children created their own addition sentences by choosing 2 numbers up to 10. They then placed the corresponding number of Honey stars on the paper plates and munched away to find the correct sums.

On a more personal note to end this post, I would like to reflect that it has been an enriching first 2 weeks of getting to know you and your children. I look forward to creating new memories and anticipating more discoveries with all of you. A big thanks to the Chatsworth Bedok family, especially Felicia, Maggie (Laoshi) and Gia, for smoothening my transition into the class. I am sure the K2 children will miss their Ms. Gia dearly.

Till the next post!
