All About Lions

Hi everyone,

Our project work on Big Wild Cats has been progressing very well. After the children brainstormed what they wanted to know about Big Wild Cats, they embarked on their research on one of the ferocious Big Wild Cats and king of the jungle - the magnificent lion!

The children watched videos on National Geographic Kids to learn all about lions and what they could do to help save them.

Click on the links below to view the videos.

They also read the National Geographic Kids Book on Everything Big Cats.

The K2s learned some interesting facts about the lions. They made a class poster and did a poster presentation on lions. Listen to what they have to say...

After showing the video on Letters to Lions, the children were eager to write their own Letters to Lions too. They are in the midst of drawing pictures of lions and writing important messages on it. They hope to send it to the good people at National Geographic, who will in turn help them pass their letters to the African leaders to show how important lions are to them. It is heartening to see the K2 children doing their part in a bid to "cause an uproar" and help conserve these big cats.
