Come into my classroom

Hello everyone!

Last week, we had a fantastic week. Some parents joined us for 'Come into my classroom' event and experienced becoming our classmates for a day.

Through this event, we hope parents had fun learning and discovering some of the K2s daily activities in school. It was heartening to see smiles and happy faces throughout the day. I am sure the K2 children enjoyed themselves having you with them.

Lastly, thank you parents for being ever supportive and actively involved in all the activities that have been planned on that day!

Grainne and Conor working on the Merlion craft.

Hailey and Eugene practising their hopping skills.

Maggie getting involved with Celestine in pasting sequins on the Merlion's body.

The K2s exploring the National day sensory tub filled with coloured water, star sequins, water beads and star-shaped ice cubes.

Serenity showing Salome how to solve the subtraction problem using kids counters.

Eugene leading our warm up session before our hopping sack race. Time for a good stretching!

 Look at them go!

After outdoor play, the children and parents watched videos on some of the famous Singapore landmarks such as the Merlion, Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands. They discussed some interesting facts about these places and were tasked to choose one as their favourite Singapore landmark. They were told that the information gathered will be displayed on a graph.

Children and parents were given a paper hand each to represent themselves on the graph. They wrote their names on the paper hands and took time to think what their favourite Singapore landmarks were.

Time to come up and share which is their favourite Singapore landmark and why.

Once they have picked and shared about their choices, the children took turns to paste their paper hands on the graph.

 Not forgetting the parents too...

We then discussed the information gathered on the graph such as which landmarks are the most and least well liked as well as how many more children like Marina Bay Sands compared to the Merlion.

Parents then facilitated the children to complete the Activity sheets to reinforce their learning.

After all the hard work, it was time for some dancing fun! Enjoy the awesome moves and grooves!
